Teal Wicks is an American actress and singer, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Elphaba in the LA, San Francisco and Broadway productions of Wicked.

BiographyEdit

Teal Wicks first joined Wicked on January 1st, 2008, in the Los Angeles company, when she became the standby for Caissie Levy as Elphaba with Megan Hilty as Glinda Upland. Her first performance took place on January 9th. On May 13th 2008 she succeeded Levy in the lead role and played it through October 30th 2008, when Eden Espinosa returned to the role to close the production.

She later opened the San Francisco production, reprising the role of Elphaba. The production also starred Kendra Kassebaum as Glinda, who was later succeeded by Erin Mackey. Previews began January 27th 2009, with an opening night of February 6th. She recently departed the company on 28 February 2010, and was again succeeded by Eden Espinosa.

Wicks as Elphaba

During her time with Wicked, she starred opposite Megan Hilty, Erin Mackey, and Kendra Kassebaum in the role of Glinda. On February 1, 2011, she made her Broadway debut taking over the role of Elphaba on Broadway, replacing Mandy Gonzalez, who played her final performance on January 30, 2011. She was teamed up with Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda. both playing their final performances on September 25, 2011 they were replaced by Jackie Burns and Chandra Lee Schwartz, respectively. Ms. Wicks is currently performing on Broadway in Finding Neverland as Mary Barrie.
