Oziandra Rainary "Rain" Thropp is the daughter of Liir and Candle Osqa'ami who was the little green daughter at the end of Son of a Witch. She also appears in Gregory Maguire's Out of Oz. Not much is known about her, only for the fact that when Liir came back to the Apple Press Farm, she was wrapped up in bundles. It is said in Out of Oz she has a Quadling-like appearance.

AppearanceEdit

Rain was born green, like her grandmother Elphaba, suggesting that the green-gene runs matrilineally as do most things in Oz. Her appearance being a dead giveaway to her ancestry, Liir had her magicked to look like a regular human of "uncertain origin."

LifeEdit

She was born at Apple Press Farm in the Shale Shallows of the Vinkus. In order to divert the attention of Commander Cherrystone's troops who were looking for her, Rain's mother Candle hid her on the farm and allowed the EC Messiars to follow her. Later, Liir found Rain and took her to Mockbeggar Hall, the home of Lady Glinda, begging for her help.

She spent time with Brrr, the Cowardly Lion, and her aunt Nor until they reunited her with her parents. Later on, for her protection, Nor enrolled her in St. Prowd's, a unionist school in Shiz in Gillikin.
